This section highlights a collection of projects from my coursework as a journalism and mass communication student. The assignments showcase strategic thinking and real-world application of marketing and communication principles.
Internal Communications
In my Strategic Communications Writing class, we worked for the North Liberty Fire Department to develop materials that can be used internally and shared with surrounding departments. While the assignments were designed to simulate real-world strategic writing, my crisis communication white paper is currently being used by the department in its crisis training.
Content Marketing
Both my Capstone and Sports Marketing classes featured content marketing projects. For my capstone, this included a class-wide content marketing project, for which I focused on the newsletter, and in sports marketing, we created campaign proposals for sport organizations of our choice with the goal to increase engagement. These projects demonstrate my ability to craft engaging content and strategic messaging.
Design
Recently, I have been stepping foot into the design side of marketing, exploring how strong visuals enhance storytelling and strategy. These pieces are visually driven and showcase an understanding of how visual hierarchy, layout, and design principles can be used to translate ideas into clear, engaging visual communication.
